Cebu, Philippines — Singapore Airline is celebrating their 50th year of service in the Philippines with the help of their Regional wing, Silk Air. This celebration also marked a year of travel perks and more exciting destinations when you fly via Silk Air and SIA. I personally rarely travel via plane since I am contented with sea travel for most of my trips, but with the promotion of Silk Air and Singapore Airlines, it made me stop, think and planned out for my next wanderlust adventure.
Mr. Ganesh Perumal, Manager Philippines for SilkAir, stated that the company joins the celebration of Singapore Airlines’ huge milestone of 50 years in the Philippines with amazing fare to more than 50 destinations around the globe. As the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, SilkAir provides seamless connectivity from the Visayas and Mindanao regions to greater SIA Network with renowned service and value. He further states that the company is definitely thankful and excited to bring in their largest countrywide travel sale for Filipinos, for their continued support through the years.

Loyalty member for Globe Platinum, BPI Credit Card holders, KrisFlyer members as well as Ayala Center Cebu and Glorietta shoppers are in for an exciting great treat as SIA reveals offers for all-inclusive round trip promotional fares starting from just USD150, with an option of Real 0% interest for up to 6 months under the BPI Special Installment Plan. This tie-up with BPI further provides avenues for families and individuals to travel the world with SilkAir and SIA. There is a promotional sale ongoing until the 29th of Feb 2016 and for travel until 31st of December 2016. Travels are valid out of Manila on Singapore Airlines and out of Cebu, Kalibo, and Davao on SilkAir.
Aside from great promotional fares, SilkAir and SIA customers can also enjoy special treats from the Airline’s partners. Discounts and Real 0% interests are offered by BPI. They can also receive 50USD cash back for every purchase of two tickets beyond Singapore of the same itinerary valid for travel from February to December 2016, or, at least, four tickets to Singapore of the same itinerary valid for travel from 01 April to 30 June and December 1 – 30, 2016.
On top of that, there is a 100% bonus limit for those card holders who are in good payment standing [in full payment]. This means that the lucky cardholders will have an extension of their current credit limit to let you purchase more tickets for your family. Insurance is also included should you experience inconveniences like delayed flights, lost packages, among others. BPI have the lowest conversion of 1.75% when using your card to pay for expenses. These BPI promos are applicable to both airlines.
The SIA Singapore Explorer Pass is another perk that travelers can enjoy when they book their flights with SIA. This pass provides travelers across the more than 20 different attractions, including the famous Gardens by the Bay, Madame Tussauds, Singapore Cable Care, Singapore Zoo and free rides on the SIA hop on a bus. The Singapore Stopover Holiday package, redeemable by passengers with beyond Singapore itineraries, including 1-night free hotel accommodation, return airport transfers and admission to popular attractions. So this means that customer who purchases the aforementioned promotional tickets will have the option to redeem either of the two perks. 🙂 Pretty amazing right?
Another perk is the Free SGD20 Changi Dollar Voucher. This is a complimentary voucher that can be redeemed for those traveling beyond Singapore and this can be used to purchase goodies at participating shops, restaurants and lounge at the Singapore Changi Airport.

As the regional wing of the Singapore Airlines, SilkAir operates the Singapore Airlines Group’s narrowbody fleet and extends the Group network by seeding and developing new, exciting destinations in Asia Pacific. The airline took to the skies in February 1989 as Tradewinds the Airline, before evolving into SilkAir in 1992. In its early days, the airline catered to passengers holidaying in exotic destinations in the region, including Phuket and Tioman. As the carrier developed, regional business destinations such as Phnom Penh, Yangon, and Kuala Lumpur were added.
Today, the full-service airline operates more than 350 weekly flights to 49 destinations in 13 countries. Recent additions included Cairns (May 2015) and Male (October 2015). The airline currently had a fleet of 29 aircraft, comprising of 4 A319s, 11 A320s and 14 Boeing 737 -800s. In August 2012, the airline announced the largest order in its history of up to 68 Boeing 737 aircraft, with firm orders comprising of both Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
